Songs of the 614 (2018-2020)
This was a sonification experiment in partnership with the Ohio State University Center for Urban and Regional Analysis to sonify civic data on the city of Columbus, Ohio to music. This multi-year project involved myself taking field recordings along several bus routes in Columbus and using these as source material to create the music for the songs. Then, data on population, access to jobs, access to healthcare, and commute time control certain parameters of each song, including tempo, low pass filters, and volume. Three songs were created for this project: "Diversity Remix" "Hey, Jobs!" and "Hey, Healthcare?". These will be paired with visualized animations that follow each bus route, and give context to each song.

Airplane Etude (2016)
While in the sky, one looks down and recognizes home from 20,000ft above.
This is an excerpt from the fixed media in the first movement of Celestial Metamorphosis. Much of the material in this excerpt was created using field recordings I collected from the inside of an airplane, while the crickets were recorded at my childhood home in upstate New York. This piece was featured on I Care If You Listen's Summer 2016 Mixtape, and I am so grateful for their support!
