Two new works for band, a finished degree, collaboration, and more!

A lot of exciting developments since August! Heres an overview:

Between Glimpses of Blue was finished in early November for a 15-member consortium! Performances for this work in Kansas City and Pullman, Washington are scheduled for April and others will follow in the fall. Recordings of these performances will be uploaded soon!

I also wrote a new fanfare for band, Blue River Breakdown. It is an exciting grade 4 piece, perfect for high school or young college groups. The piece is dedicated to Steven Davis and Joseph Parisi for their support of new music by UMKC composers and others. Performances of that piece are tentatively being scheduled this spring, with more to come in the summer and fall as well!

Mnemosyne performed new works as part of the Art in the Loop summer art series, Charlotte Street’s Illumnaphonic festival; and will be performing on the road at Indiana University South Bend and in Detroit, Michigan!

I successfully defended my dissertation (which was Between Glimpses of Blue) this past week and will be graduating from UMKC in May!

I’ve been writing in the studio generously given to me through Charlotte Street’s Studio Residency. In addition I’ve also written some blog posts (with more to come!) and an upcoming collaboration with animator Molly Garrett!

Other upcoming performances this spring include Winter’s Summer in Pullman, Washington, the premiere of Life and Death on a Spinning Disk in Kansas City, and a performance with the NewEar Ensemble on May 5!
