Thailand, Charlotte Street Residency, Mixtape, and a New Commission!

This summer has flown by, literally, as I recently returned from an around-the-world trip to Thailand for the Thailand International Composition Festival! TICF was an inspiring week of concerts, lectures, and discussion with composers and performers from around the world.

Starting in September I will also be a resident at the Charlotte Street Foundation’s Studio Residency program here in Kansas City!

An excerpt from the Celestial Metamorphosis show was chosen to be on the I Care If You Listen summer mixtape and is available for download for free! This excerpt, titled Airplane Etude, isn’t available anywhere else at the moment so feel free to give it a listen.

Lastly,  I’ve been hard at work on a new piece for wind ensemble and electronics. This piece has been commissioned by Danh Pham and the WSU Wind Ensemble and a consortium of 13 university and high school bands from around the US, and will be finished in the fall! I am incredibly excited to be working with so many ensembles and directors for this piece, and am looking forward to sharing it here in the near future.
